Concept - Primordials

As I was putting together stats for the Sylvan Animae Lord - I had an idea for a set of Unique Heroes called "Primordial" that would be lords (or ladies) that command a specific Element.  They would have elemental-based special powers and likely bonding with the small/medium elementals.  This would give us another way to increase the effectiveness of the Common Hero elementals without playing Kurrok.

So basic special power for each Primordial would be "Bonding" with either a Common Squad (like Granite Guardians or Sylvan Animae elementars, or even Obsidian Guards).  They could also bond with the Common Hero elementals if that made more sense, or there wasn't a "squad" (like Air) that matched their power.

They could also have some other Elemental based ability or special attack.

I was trolling eBay and some other sites looking for inspiration, and found a few.

Special Powers
CONTROL PRIME ELEMENT - "X"
Before taking a turn with this Primoridial, you may first take a turn with 2 small or medium "X" elementals you control (or one squad of elementars?).

ELEMENTAL ABSORPTION
When an elemental (or elementar) within 6 clear sight spaces of this Primordial would be destroyed, roll the 20-sided die before removing that figure.  If you roll a 11 or higher, place that elemental on this Primordial's army card.

ELEMENTAL ADAPTATION
Before moving, you may remove an elemental figure on this card.  If you do, remove one wound marker on this Primordial and for the remainder of the turn, you may use any powers the removed elementals army card as if the Primordial was that figure.

There are also medium elementals that came in Pathfinder "Shattered Star."  They are a little pricey (about $3 each) but that might be less than the Heroscaper Elementals at this point.  Maybe they could be turned into a new type of Common Hero (if we want to budget for more elementals), or we could get one of each for a Unique Elemental Hero.

Cool initial thoughts . . . I'll provide more feedback when I have time.

Like the idea of getting some larger elementals into the game. I'd like to see them help out in non-bonding ways though-(although not excluding bonding entirely).

Perhaps like having the large fire elemental helping the existing fire elementals 20-sided roll. An extreme heat type power.

The large air elemental could have a howling winds power where if bigger guy travels within 2 spaces of an air elemental you may move the air elemental 2 spaces.

The large earth elemental could have an earth slam type power that reaches 2 spaces in each direction, and if an existing earth elemental is on any of those spaces they get to do their earth slam attack- kind of a rolling earthquake.

The large water elemental could have a tidal wave type power where after taking a turn with him you could take a turn with up to 3 water elementals (existing common heroes) that are on a water space that is the same body of water as the large elemental.

Or you could go another route and if the big guy ends his movement next to the common hero you may put 1 per turn on the big guys card adding to the big guys defense and special attack. Instead of taking a turn with the big guy you may take a turn with any common heroes on his card. This makes sense for fire, water, air, although not so certain about the earth elemental.

Saw this figure at the AvengersRule eBay store and thought first about Granite Guardians (but I think we've got Torver for them), and then thought about an Earth/Stone PRIMORDIAL.

Maybe for Wave 3.

Not sure about the Size comparison with the G Guardians ... so I might order one to check him out.

Alright I picked up this miniature and it is pretty awesome! He looks great with the Granite Guardians .. though we have Torver supporting them. He would be a nice figure for the "Earth" Primordial.

"Kronan" is a little taller than Deathwalker 8000. He's tall and lean ... so about the same height as the Iron Golem or Dumetef but not as broad. So Large, single base. I'll have to work up some stats.
