    I have been delving into more of the Lord of the Rings "Combat Hex" figures and I think I have found figures for a Unique Squad for Valkrill.

    These three figures are really close in design.  I was thinking Unique Ranged Squad for Valkrill as range is sort of a weak-point for that general.  I am hoping for a solid squad that is like the Krav Maga Agents - in that it fits well bolted onto any army.

    I'm also looking into a 4th figure to make them more like the Marro Warriors.

    As for powers ... not sure yet, but I'm thinking 80-100 points depending on # of figures.

    Anyone want to take a shot at the design? (and we can change the name) ... I've ordered enough figures to share : )

    Interesting idea. The one on the right looks kinda Valkrill, the other two look Ullar. Perhaps a repaint would help.

    First pass:

    NAME = Black Arrow Assassins
    GENERAL = Valkrill
    PLANET = Earth
    SPECIES = Human
    CLASS = Assassins
    PERSONALITY = Disciplined
    SIZE = Medium 5
    UNIQUE SQUAD (3 figures)

    LIFE = 1
    MOVE = 5
    RANGE = 6
    ATTACK = 3
    DEFENSE = 3
    POINTS = 100

    POISON ARROWS
    Each time a Black Arrow Assassin attacks a small or medium figure with a normal attack and inflicts at least 1 wound, roll the 20-sided die. If you roll a 1-11, nothing happens. If you roll a 12-19, add 1 additional wound to the defending figure. If you roll a 20, destroy the defending figure. Poison Arrows do not affect Constructions, Soulborgs, or Undead.

    INFILTRATE
    If you win initiative and the Black Arrow Assassins are not the only remaining figures in your army, before revealing your first order marker, you may immediately move the Black Arrow Assassins up to 5 spaces.

    Infiltrate sounds promising as a new power - you win initiative, move them 5 spaces, move them 5 spaces with their move, and then with a range of 6 . . . they can have an affective range of 16. Is that too much? Maybe it would be better for a melee squad?

    Sounds like Poison Arrows is another Unique Hero killer power. What if you went with something like this?

    PIERCING ARROWS
    If a Black Arrow Assassin destroys a small or medium common squad figure, roll the 20-sided die. If you roll a 1-15, nothing happens. If you roll a 16-20, a small or medium common squad figure adjacent to the destroyed figure receives a wound. Piercing Arrows do not affect Constructs, Soulborgs, or Undead.

    My concept was a "concealed ambush" where the Assassins have already made their way to the battlefield and are laying in wait.  I was considering something like Orc Battle Rush - where they go a jump out of the start zone.  That would just be on the 1st Round.  Would that be more balanced?  Also thought about something the The Drop from the Airbourne Elite.

    Yes, they end up being anti-Hero with the poisoning power.  Piercing Arrows is interesting.  Maybe a different name to simulate more of a volley of arrows? instead of one arrow injuring a target and changing direction to hit another.

    WAIT THEN FIRE
    If none of the Black Arrow Assassins move this turn, add 1 to their attack.

    CONCEALMENT 15
    If a Black Arrow Assassin you control is targeted and receives one or more wounds from an attacking figure who is not adjacent, you must roll the 20-sided die.  Count the minimum number of spaces between the attack and the Black Arrow Assassin.  Add this number to your die roll.  If you roll a 15 or higher, ignore any wounds the Black Arrow Assassin just received.

    I will have to dig up the Combat Hex figures - but I think I have a 4th one.
