Looks great, nice design and card. Valient needs to be Valiant under first power.

WOW! Great job on the cards.

It is so rewarding to actually have a CARD for our customs. It makes the hard work in design and play-testing worth it for me.

    Thank you.

Should it be "Valiant Warrior hero you control". All of our other cards seem to use 1 instead of one- in the 2nd power, should it be "add one to his their attack value" or "add 1 to his their attack value"

Yes - it should be hero or unique hero.

There is much variability on the HS cards in this regard. "1" and "one" are both used frequently.

His or their? "His" is used on cards where gender is known to be male - Sentinels of Jandar for example. "Their" is used when gender is not known or there is a mix. In this case, I assumed that the Templars were all male, but we can switch it to "their."

Here's what I've got as a sort of combined Bio for the Templars, Sebastian, and Thaddeus.

    --
    TEMPLARS OF ASCALON
A branch of the Knights Templar, these knights of Earth distinguished themselves during the Third Crusade at the siege of Ascalon in 1153.  Ascalon was Fatimid Egypt's greatest and most important frontier fortress and after a long battle, the Templars succeeded at taking this key stronghold.  During the battle, a group of knights under the command of Baron Sebastian de la Croix held a key entry point into the city.  The knights pushed back the superior numbers of the Fatimids and despite the swarm of enemy soldiers, refused to yield their position.  Without the valor and determination of these knights, the fortress would not have fallen.  Following the victory, those knights we dubbed the Templars of Ascalon.

Years later when the Templars of Ascalon were returning home, they came to the aid of a large caravan.  The raiders were beastial men with horrific mounts like giant wolves and it was clear to the Templars that these foul creatures were not of this world.  The Templars engaged the unknown enemy and learned that the caravan was transporting sacred relics.  The caravan was led by Bishop Thaddeus and he requested that the Templars follow the monsters through the portal to retrieve the relics.  Without hesitation the Templars, along with Bishop Thaddeus and Baron Sebastian advanced through the portal and found themselves transported to Valhalla.

The knights found themselves in the middle of a great battle with a swarm of Grut Orcs and to their amazement the great dragon, Mimring.  Fighting against the blue skinned Orcs and the scaled drake were members of the Roman Legion and other strangers but at least they were human.  Despite the unearthly nature of their enemies, the Templars pushed into the fray.  With the knights holding back Orcs, Baron Sebastian harried the dragon with the help of the Romans.  Because of the tenacity of the Templars, the captive members of the caravan were able to return through the portal.  But for Sebastian and the remaining Templars of Ascalon it was too late and the gateway closed behind them.

The Roman Legion was able to converse in Latin with Bishop Thaddeus.  Shortly after the battle, a delegation of Kyrie from General Einar arrived and basic alliance was formed.  A few days later, the Templars, along with Thaddeus and Sebastian, met with Einar himself and learned about the conflict on Valhalla.  At the request of Einar, the Templars joined the ranks of soldiers fighting against Utgar and Valkrill, as protecting Earth from the potential dimensional attacks of these outworlders was part of the code that all of the knights had sworn.

In return for their help, Einar entrusted the leaders of the Templars with two gifts.  Baron Sebastian received the Spear (Banner) of Dagmar, an enchanted polearm that increased the alertness and awareness of his followers.  For Bishop Thaddeus, Einar enchanted a magical tome to capture the essence and valor of the great deeds of devout warriors.  This Divine Grimore could channel the mystical energies into the faithful that followed the Bishop into battle.

Awesome! Jacob and I were picking armies for our next, next tournament and I just realized the same thing. Ulfred fits in well in my opinion and doesn't break a thing. Concan, Saylind, and Ulfred - a very nice array of bonders.

    Go Templars of Ascalon!

Thanks for these "BooK" synergies, Derek!!

Do you think that we should update the Templars to allow them to bond to Valiant Warriors and Valiant Knights? That would let them bond with Sir DuPuis - who is a Valiant Knight.

I think we can save Sir DuPuis for a different group of Knights to bond with. I think it might change their points if we add DuPuis to the mix. But I am good either way.

Taking a lot longer than I figured. I definitely use these lists when picking armies so hopefully they help. Let me know if I missed anything or added anything that shouldn't be there.

Dude - these books are amazing! Where did you find the time?

I'll let you know if I find anything to add. We should put these on Heroscapers as well . . .

I'd prefer to leave the Templars as just bonding with Valient Warriors. Dupuis will get his due.

Valient Warrior Bonding . . . and Jean de Ascalon down the road.

Count Raymond: Maneuver 9 doesn't benefit the Templars because of their No Surrender, No Retreat power.
